She graduated in B. Sc (Zoology) Hons from Delhi University and passed M.Sc (Nematology) and Ph.D (Nematology) from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. she qualified the All India Service of ICAR and joined as ARS Scientist in 1993. Then, she got promoted as Scientist (Senior Scale), Senior Scientist and Principal Scientist at IARI.

She has also worked as Project Coordinator (Nematodes) officiating several times of ICAR Networking Project of All India Coordinated Research Project on Nematodes with Integrated Approach which was having 15 centres all over India. In this net working project work was carried out on screening of germplasm of pulses and vegetables, population dynamics, cropping patterns, occurrence of phytonematodes in polyhouses its management, community analysis and nematode management aspects.

She is working in the Farmer fields on different agricultural crops from last 15years for controlling pest and disease problems at Delhi/ NCR, Haldwani, Dadri, Mujaffanagar (UP) area. She has received many Awards like Young Scientist Award, Best poster Presentation Award, DAHS Challenge Cup from Delhi Agri-Horticultural Society of India, SPPS Fellow Award, etc. She has more than 200 publications published (National and International) as Research papers, Chapters in books, Lead Talk, Popular articles, Directory, Technical Bulletin, Annual Report, Biennial report, Pamphlets, etc. She is working as Reviewer in the Editorial Board of many Scientific Societies.
