He served as a  Professor of  Formerly with Yarmouk University, Jordan University of Science & Technology University and University of Akron ,Ohio,U.S.A. Title: Heavy oil upgrading using a new nano catalyst at room temperature


In recent years, global demands of energy have increased due to industrial growth while the worldwide production of conventional crude oil has almost reached its peak. Recent statistics show that there is a decline in light oil production and the composition of produced oil is getting heavier. Therefore, heavy oil production would play an important role in the future of the ever-growing world's energy consumption.

Heavy oil and bitumen require energy-intensive operations for their production, upgrading, and transportation to refineries for subsequent production operations. Therefore, reducing the viscosity of the heavy oil simultaneously with enhanced oil recovery has attracted a lot of attention in the past few years.

The purpose of this work carried out at the Sultan Qaboos University, Petroleum, and Chemical Engineering Department, was to assess the effectiveness of a patent-pending improved chemical formula developed by Professor Awad Mansour for heavy oil upgrading and investigate its potentials as an enhanced oil recovery method.

It was found that the provided chemical solvent was capable to:
reduce the crude oil viscosity by up to 90%, 
increase the API value by up to 27%, 
increase in oil volume up to 100%
reduction of sulphur content up to 20%
increase the light hydrocarbon composition in the crude samples, and,
enhanced the oil recovery by 10% with NO apparent damage to the formation. 


Title: A nano botanical composition with maximum bioavailability for treatment of diabetes

Abstract: The present invention relates to a topical pharmaceutical Nanocomposition (with maximum bioavailability) for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. The composition for treating diabetes, preferably formed of gel or cream, contains Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide), Galega Officinalis, Berberis Vulgaris or extract of them. In particular, the composition is applied on reflexological points of a human body to cause the release of insulin from the patient's pancreas and to enhance the treatment of diabetes. Observed results showed excellent results for both types of diabetes with no adverse or side effects.,
