Biography: Kihia Charles Maina is an ecologist and environmental scientist in Department of Biological Sciences at Egerton University. His roles include training and mentoring undergraduate and post-graduate students on diverse aspects of tropical ecology. As a senior lecturer at the department, is also involved in research with specialization on sustainable utilization of tropical natural resources. Dr. Kihia holds Bsc Zoology, Master Ecology both from Moi University, and PhD Environmental Sciences from Egerton University, Post Doc University of Bremen. Dr. Kihia current research interests include NACOSTI funded research projects on bait fisheries, and bioprospecting for medicinal extract from mangrove forest endophytes, respectively, Bioprospecting endophytes of medicinal from high altitude forest, Culture of polychaetes as alternative bait and fish feed in Kenya. He has published a number of articles on human dimension in mangrove forest, fishery and bait exploitation.,
