Biography: Dr. Hala M. Taha completed her Ph.D. from Alexandria University, Faculty of science, Botany Department in 2002. Presently, she is working as a researcher in the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF), Egypt.  She is a Member in the Group of Experts on Harmful Algal Blooms that has been established by the UNESCO/IOC Sub Commission for Africa and the Adjacent Island States (IOCAFRICA). Her research interest include phytoplankton biotechnology and molecular biology, identification and culturing of algae in both indoors and outdoors cultures, analysis of many constituents in both the algal organisms and in culture media. She participated in many projects which includes the project of Med-algae, Production of  Biodiesel in selected Mediterranean Countries and the project of  Environmental Monitoring of  Lakes for studying the seasonal variations of phytoplankton. Moreover, she participated in sessions with the national coordinators for the International Atomic Energy Agency’s project on “Applying Nuclear Analytical Techniques to Support Harmful Algal Bloom Management in the Context of Climate and Environmental Change” (IAEA RAF7014). During her scientific work, she participated in many workshops, training courses, national and international conferences. She published more than 22 scientific papers in national and international journals.,
