Dr. Marzena Wojcik received her Ph.D. in chemical sciences from the Polish Academy of Sciences Lodz, Poland in 2001. Her doctoral research led to the discovery of diastereoselectivity of human plasma 3'-exonuclease. After a 12-month ofpostdoctoral training at the Department of Genetics headed by Prof. Charles Brenner at Norris Cotton Cancer Center in Lebanon. After that, she moved to the Medical University of Lodz as an assistant professor in the Department of Structural Biology. She hold a doctor habilitowany degree in medical sciences in 2016. Her scientific interests are mainly focused on the identification of molecular mechanisms underlying metabolic changes occurring during diabetes, particularly gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). She has published many articles in the field of Diabetes mellitus.
