Biography: Dr. Yury Stepanyants graduated from the Radiophysical Faculty of the Gorky State University (Russia) in 1973. He worked with the Research Radiophysical Institute, Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University until 1998. In 1998–2008 Yury worked as the Senior Research Scientist with the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation in Sydney (Australia), and then, since 2009 he has been working as the Professor of Applied Mathematics with the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba. In 1983 Yury obtained a PhD in Physical Oceanography, and in 1992 he obtained a degree of Doctor of Sciences in Geophysics. He was granted the titles of Professor of Applied Mathematics in Russian Federation (1995), Professeur des Universités in Mécanique in France (2004), and 2014 he was promoted to the position of Full Professor of Mathematics at the University of Southern Queensland (Australia),
