Ms. Shayma Habboush finished her Master degree in electronics and computer engineering  at Nanotechnology Lab of at the Al Quds  University. Joined Al-Quds University in East Jerusalem in 2002. Worked as scientific researcher at the Nanotechnology laboratory at Al-Quds University and the Palestinian Authority as well in September 2006. Currently, she is Network Administrator/ Data Analyzer at Sheikh Zayed Private Academy. Ms. Shayma Habboush research interest mainly focused on Molecular Electronics and Nanosensors, Scanning Probe Microscopy Techniques, Organic-Inorgainc hybrid Solar Cells.

Title: Programmed Assembly of DNA Block Copolymer Nanorods

Abstract:

We report programmed assembly of DNA block copolymer nanoparticles into one dimensional nanorods that can be used as hardware for nano-electronic devices and biosensors. DNA –Block Copolymer (DBC) nanoparticles are aggregated with polymer core and single stranded DNA shell. The length of the DNA block can be changed by varying the number of bases, DNA or it can be fully complementary or partly complementary, which leads to different stiffness and flexibility. Each polymer block can be different. Different polymers can be used in order to achieve different electrical, chemical and mechanical properties. The nanoparticles were characterized by tapping mode Atomic Force Microscopy, Electrostatic Force Microscopy, and Conductive Atomic Force microscopy. The Nanorods were uniform single, separated with controlled length.
