Biography:

Prof. Amal Khalifa is a professional Clinical Oncologist with a permanent post as a professor of Clinical Oncology, Assiut University, Egypt. She graduated from Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, Egypt then obtained an MSc in oncology and nuclear medicine from same University in 1989; and then completed her Clinical Oncology training and MD thesis at the Beatson Oncology Center, Glasgow University, UK.  She worked as a full-time Clinical oncologist in the UK (Cardiff & Maidstone) during 1992-1998. In 1998 she moved to the Sultanate of Oman on a secondment to establish the oncology services in the Sultanate, she served as a senior consultant in Oman for 10 years till 2008. Between 2010-2012, Professor Khalifa held the post of Head of Oncology Department, Assiut University, Egypt.

Professor Khalifa also holds 2 diplomas from the American University in Cairo in Total Quality Healthcare Management (TQM) and Hospital and Healthcare Management. She is a professional lecturer in Oncology and Palliative care.

Her current post (since 2012) is Professor-in-charge of Oncology services at the Breast Division, University of Dammam, KSA. Being a pioneering expert mastering the technique of Intra-Operative Radiotherapy for breast cancer and participating in the TARGIT-B trial. Besides her National and International Publications, she is a full member of the Egyptian Cancer Society, the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO certified), the TARGIT Academy, London and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
