Prof. Dr. Mohd Rozainee Taib graduated from University of Alabama, USA in chemical engineering, followed by University of Leeds, UK with the Master thesis title in clinical waste incineration and University of Sheffields, UK with PhD thesis title in incineration. He has been working on waste management project for the past 25 years. He obtained the professorship from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia with recognized expertise in the field of waste incineration.Currently, he is the head of panel for the environmental subjects in Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is a technical advisor for Jabatan Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal Negara (JPSPN), involves with waste management policy and planning, and provides technical expertise for selection of waste management technology. In 2015, he led a team to conduct Solid Waste Management Master Plan for Northern Johor which eventually being adopted by the government for the national master plan. Currently, he is a member of technical committee for the development of waste-to-energy plant in Kuala Lumpur.Department of Environment (DOE) regularly sought his advice in issues related to scheduled waste management, waste incineration and air quality. In 2011, he was appointed by DOE to develop the EIA Guidelines for Solid Waste Incineration Plant. He has conducted a number of training programs for DOE personnel on waste incineration, stack emission sampling and zero emission concept. He was also a member of technical committee for development of new Clean Air Regulations and Dioxin Emission Standards. Currently, DOE appointed his team to revise the Guideline of Clinical Waste Handling and Management.
